The Board of Trustees of the Hudson Area Library is seeking volunteers to work on the Marketing Committee.
Background
The Hudson Area Library is entering on a two year project to renovate the Armory (North Fifth and State St.) to become its new home. It is our objective to create a 21st century library that will serve as a new community hub for our library users from Hudson, Greenport, and Stockport as well as other local towns.
Marketing for the Library
To reach this objective and to create ongoing community engagement and support for the long term, the Board is seeking to significantly increase every aspect of how we communicate with library patrons, volunteers, the various communities we serve as well as other stakeholders in government and the corporate and non-profit worlds. Volunteers will work with members of the Board of Trustees and library staff.
This marketing work needs to support the following areas of the library’s activities:
- General awareness of the library, its services and programs.
- Outreach to the general public and specific segments of the local population for specific services and programs offered by the library
- Support outreach for events and solicitations for the Library’s Annual Operating Fund Committee
- Support the Capital Fund Committee to raise funds required for our participation in the renovation of the Armory.
Skills We Are Seeking
Volunteers will be selected based on their demonstrated skills and experiences and their fit with the mix of tasks and skills of others on the Marketing Committee. We anticipate a 5 to 10 hour per month commitment. Volunteers do not have to reside in Hudson, Greenport or Stockport, however they must be available for occasional meetings in Hudson.
Please contact Mark Orton, President of the Board of Trustees, at morton@hudsonarealibrary.org. Include a current brief resume and a statement of the kinds of work you would like to be involved in.
